About Us

Members:

We are a group of Genocide survivors who lost their loved ones during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in the village of Ndera, located in Kigali Rwanda.  They were killed at CARAES (Psychiatric Hospital of Ndera) and Petit Seminaire de Ndera and its surroundings as some of them didn’t manage to go to those centers.

Before the Genocide we all lived in Ndera with our families. During the genocide, some of us were with the victims and survived the genocide, others were out of Ndera, for different reasons.

After the Genocide we were scattered all over the globe but many of our loved ones fell at CARAES and Petit Seminaire Ndera. Now we are all located in many different points on the globe, such as Rwanda, The United States of America, Canada, Europe and elsewhere.  We also work in several fields ranging from HealthCare to Private Sectors.

Use of this website:

 We launched this website for three main reasons:

  • To create a community of Ndera survivors that supports each other beyond physical boundaries, as we cannot all meet up every year;
  • To remember the relatives we lost during The 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi;
  • And to share testimonies of those who survived the killings at CARAES and Petit Seminaire Ndera.

Our goals:

  • To ensure that those who lost their lives are never forgotten.
  • To educate the next generation how the Genocide against the Tutsi was executed at CARAES and Petit Seminaire Ndera.
  • To contribute to unity and reconciliation among Rwandans.
